Sing To Remember

Funded by the Age UK innovation fund, Kent Arts and Wellbeing launched The Sing To Remember project. Based on the successful activity  established by Mindsong in Gloucester, Sing To Remember is a weekly dementia friendly singing activity designed to maintain and improve wellbeing.

Led by John Hayden, the activity was initially held at Downswood community centre, transferring in September to Invicta Court Care Home. This transfer reflects the support from and interest of Invicta Court and their residents.  The activity regularly involves 25+ participants , both from Invicta Court and the wider community.

The benefits to participants is evident, with discernable improvement in engagement, clear expressions of enjoyment and the feedback from carers has been very positive.

It is intended to seek funding to expand this activity more broadly across Kent.
